After graduating from UCI, she attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2000, graduating with Honors as part of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honorary Society. Vanessa Kojima Kim completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California at Irvine, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1995.
